Goa Land Rights Battle Continues 50 Years After Tenancy Act as Kul-Mundkar Samiti Announces Statewide Agitation
Goa, Oct. 6 -- Fifty years after the enactment of Goa's Agricultural Tenancy Act, the battle over land and house ownership rights continues, with the Goa Kul-Mundkar Sangharsh Samiti announcing a statewide agitation over pending tenancy-related issues.
The organisation has raised concerns over long-pending tenancy cases, Form 1-14 entries, administrative delays and unresolved claims relating to land and house ownership.
As part of the agitation, the Samiti will hold a dharna on October 8, 2026, from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm at Mahatma Gandhi Park near Pednem Map. Following the protest, the organisation plans to submit a memorandum to the District Collector highlighting the issues faced by affected landholders.
