Goa, Aug. 3 -- Heavy rainfall has led to the flooding of the Haltar stream on the Khanapur-Hemadga route, forcing the closure of a key road linking Goa with Khanapur and Belagavi since Sunday night.

The overflowing stream has rendered the road impassable, prompting authorities to divert traffic between Goa and Khanapur-Belagavi through the Ramnagar route.

Officials have advised motorists travelling between Goa and Karnataka to use alternative routes until water levels recede and the road is declared safe for vehicular movement.
