PANAJI, Nov. 5 -- Taking suo motu cognisance of a newspaper report highlighting the mounting garbage crisis at the Mapusa Sub-Yard and the associated health and environmental hazards, the Goa Human Rights Commission has issued notices to five government authorities, seeking their responses.

The Commission, in its proceedings dated November 2, 2026, took note of a report published in O Heraldo on November 2, 2026, titled 'Mounting Garbage Crisis Inside Mapusa Sub-Yard Posing Severe Health and Environmental Hazards'.
