Goa, Oct. 5 -- The Goa Human Rights Commission has recommended action against the use of residential flats for commercial tourist rentals at Saldana Kieran Park in Calangute, stating that the practice has affected the safety, security and dignity of residents.

The inquiry followed a complaint filed by Savita Yadav on behalf of residents of the residential complex. The residents alleged that several flats were being operated as short-term rental accommodations, resulting in concerns over safety and insecurity among families, women, children and senior citizens living in the complex. They also alleged that they faced threats to withdraw their complaints.
