Goa High Court Seeks Explanation Over Delay in Anjuna Site Inspection, Orders Panchayat to Act on Illegal Structures
Goa, July 7 -- The High Court has directed the Deputy Town Planner to file an affidavit explaining why a court-ordered site inspection at Anjuna was not conducted for nearly one-and-a-half years, despite specific directions issued earlier.
The matter came up before a Division Bench during the hearing of a contempt petition arising from an order dated March 11, 2025. In that order, the Court had directed the Deputy Town Planner to inspect the property in question and submit a report, following which the Village Panchayat was required to take appropriate action within one month.
