India, March 9 -- Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced that the state government will grant permanent status to contractual employees who have completed 10 years or more in service.

Sawant said the decision will be implemented in the coming year and will apply to all eligible employees irrespective of the posts they currently hold.

- Advertisement - The Chief Minister further stated that the commitment to regularise such contractual employees has already been incorporated in the State Budget, indicating the government's intention to move forward with the policy.

The move is expected to benefit a large number of long-serving contractual staff across various government departments in Goa.
