India, March 17 -- Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Monday remembered the contributions of former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar in promoting the inclusion of women in defence training.

The Governor highlighted Parrikar's progressive vision and his support for the induction of girl cadets into premier defence institutions. He also noted Parrikar's emphasis on expanding infrastructure following the decision to open the National Defence Academy to women.

Raju said Parrikar played a key role in encouraging greater participation of women in the armed forces, helping pave the way for more inclusive defence training policies in the country.
