Goa Gives One-Month Grace Period for Vehicle Insurance Compliance, Says Mauvin Godinho
Goa, July 17 -- Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho has expressed concern over the large number of vehicles plying on Goa's roads without valid insurance, warning that it could have serious consequences in the event of an accident.
Describing the situation as "shocking," Godinho said uninsured vehicles pose a major risk to motorists and victims involved in road accidents, as insurance coverage is crucial for compensation and financial protection.
The minister announced that the Transport Department will provide vehicle owners with a one-month grace period to regularise their insurance documents. During this period, authorities will not impose fines for the absence of valid insurance.
