Goa, July 1 -- Party leader questions rising power tariffs, inflated bills and penalties, seeks greater transparency from the Electricity Department.

Goa Forward Party leader Dattaraj Desai, accompanied by party workers and supporters, staged a gherao of the Electricity Department office in Curchorem, raising several issues concerning electricity consumers, particularly those in the Curchorem area.

During the protest, Desai confronted Assistant Engineer Guno Gaude over what he described as growing public dissatisfaction with rising electricity tariffs, high power bills, penalties imposed on consumers and other billing-related grievances.
