Goa, Oct. 8 -- The Goa Forest Department held the valedictory programme of Wildlife Week 2026 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, bringing the week-long celebrations under the theme "Connecting Habitats, Thriving Wildlife" to a close.

PWD Minister Digambar Kamat, who attended the event as Chief Guest, highlighted the importance of protecting wildlife and natural habitats. Poriem MLA and GFDCL Chairperson Dr Deviya Rane was present as the Guest of Honour.

The programme focused on strengthening awareness about wildlife conservation, habitat protection and Goa's rich biodiversity. The celebrations also sought to encourage greater public participation in efforts to protect the state's natural environment and wildlife.
