Goa FDA Inspects 6 Food Units in Bardez, Destroys 320 Kg Farsan and 185 Kg Mawa
Goa, Sept. 12 -- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted a surveillance drive across Bardez taluka, inspecting food businesses including sweet and farsan manufacturing units to check compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
During the drive, six food businesses were inspected, of which two units were directed to suspend operations after officials found unhygienic conditions on the premises.
The FDA team destroyed 320 kg of farsan valued at approximately Rs.64,000 and 185 kg of mawa worth around Rs.37,000. Officials said the food products had been prepared and stored under unhygienic conditions, while the mawa was also found to have been kept without proper refrigeration.
