Goa Court Acquits Yoga Instructor in Alleged Rape and Cheating Case After Complainant Fails to Testify
Goa, June 30 -- The Fast Track Special Court in Panjim has acquitted a 38-year-old yoga instructor, who was facing charges of alleged rape and cheating involving a foreign woman.
The case stemmed from allegations that Agarwal had sexually assaulted the complainant under the pretext of administering a "Tantric massage" at his yoga centre in Korgao. He was also accused of cheating in connection with the incident.
During the trial, however, the complainant did not appear before the court to depose as a witness. The Investigating Officer informed the court that despite efforts, her presence could not be secured.
