Goa Congress Leader Slams Government Over Porvorim Firing, Raises Law and Order Concerns
Porvorim, Aug. 29 -- Goa Congress Working President Sunil Kawthankar has strongly criticised the state government over the reported firing at a businessman in Porvorim, alleging a serious deterioration in the state's law and order situation.
Kawthankar claimed that the incident took place barely 100 metres from the SP North Goa office, questioning how such an incident could occur in an area considered to have heightened security and police presence.
He also accused the state government of corruption and alleged that policing in Goa had been reduced to what he termed a "hafta collection agency", allowing illegal activities to continue unchecked.
