Goa, Aug. 4 -- The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee has expelled Shamila Siddiqui and Manisha Usgaonkar from the party for a period of six years.

The disciplinary action was taken following the recommendations of the party's disciplinary committee. While announcing the decision, the Goa Congress said both leaders would remain expelled from the party for the next six years.

The party, however, did not immediately disclose further details regarding the grounds for the disciplinary action. The expulsion comes as part of the Goa Congress' internal disciplinary process based on the committee's recommendations.
