Goa, Sept. 23 -- Goa has become the first state in India to adopt a policy focused on adult vaccination, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said during the launch of the Goa Policy for Life-Course Immunisation.

Rane said the initiative reflects Goa's emphasis on preventive healthcare and marks an effort to expand immunisation beyond childhood.

The life-course immunisation policy aims to encourage vaccination at different stages of life, with a focus on strengthening protection against vaccine-preventable diseases among adults and other age groups.

The initiative seeks to promote awareness of the importance of vaccination throughout life rather than limiting immunisation programmes primarily to children.
