Goa, Oct. 27 -- A young girl narrowly escaped serious injury after her hair became entangled in the hydraulic mechanism and ladder system of the ferry ramp at Chodan ferry point, raising concerns over passenger safety.

Witnesses and local residents alleged that the incident exposed serious safety lapses, claiming that the equipment lacked protective guards to prevent such accidents.

Following the incident, community representatives approached officials of the River Navigation Department (RND), demanding that the girl's medical expenses be covered and that safety protocols at the ferry point be strictly enforced.
