Goa, Sept. 10 -- Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said his ministry has set seven world records for various works and now aims to set another record by blacklisting contractors, debarring them and suspending officials within a year for poor performance.

Expressing disappointment over the prolonged delay in completing the Mumbai-Goa highway, Gadkari said he felt "ashamed" that the project had taken so long.

He also said that once the highway is completed, he would personally travel from Mumbai to Goa by road to inspect the quality of the work.
