Goa, July 2 -- Fresh violence broke out in Manipur's Kamjong district on Wednesday after several villages near the India-Myanmar border were targeted in suspected arson attacks, raising concerns over renewed unrest in the conflict-prone hill district.

According to reports, one Kuki-majority village and two Tangkhul Naga villages were affected in the violence, with multiple houses reportedly set ablaze. Authorities had not independently confirmed the extent of the damage or reported any casualties at the time of publishing.

The latest incident has intensified tensions between Kuki and Naga communities, with organisations representing both sides trading accusations over responsibility for the attacks.
