Four deaths linked to the consumption of Fen tanyl have been reported across four police jurisdic tions in Goa between Jan uary 1 and May 4, 2026, triggering growing concern among medical profes sionals and enforcement agencies. Fentanyl is a powerful opioid prescribed for the treatment of severe pain. Though legally available through pharmacies, its sale is tightly regulated, making its alleged availa bility to recreational users particularly alarming.
