Former SC Judge Justice Rohinton Nariman Warns Right to Vote Is 'At Great Peril'
Goa, Oct. 6 -- Former Supreme Court judge Justice Rohinton Fali Nariman has raised serious concerns over the functioning of the Election Commission of India (ECI), warning that the constitutional right to vote is facing "great peril" amid allegations of voter disenfranchisement during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.
Speaking on the issue, Justice Nariman stressed that the right to vote is central to both the Constitution and India's democratic system. He expressed concern over developments surrounding the functioning of the poll panel and called for the Supreme Court to intervene to address what he described as "disturbing developments".
