Former RAW Chief Flags Security Risks in PM Modi Convoy Downsizing
Goa, May 15 -- Former Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) Secretary Samant Goel on Thursday expressed concern over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to reduce the size of his security convoy as part of the Centre's fuel-saving measures amid the ongoing Middle East crisis and rising global energy prices.
The Prime Minister recently directed the Special Protection Group (SPG) to cut down the convoy size by nearly 50 per cent. The move comes days after Modi urged citizens to adopt austerity measures such as reducing fuel consumption, carpooling, using public transport and limiting unnecessary expenses.
