Goa, June 21 -- A fire broke out at a house near Maruti Temple in the Housing Board area of Porvorim on Saturday afternoon, causing significant property damage. The incident was reported at around 1:24 pm and prompted an immediate response from fire and emergency services.

According to the homeowner, the blaze resulted in losses estimated at approximately 7 lakh. Several household items and portions of the property were damaged before firefighters managed to bring the situation under control.

Fire personnel worked swiftly to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby houses and successfully contained the blaze. Their timely intervention helped avoid a larger disaster in the residential area.
