Fire Breaks Out on Rajdhani Express in MP's Ratlam, All Passengers Evacuated
Goa, May 17 -- A fire erupted early Sunday in an AC coach of the Thiruvananthapuram-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express while it ran through Madhya Pradesh's Ratlam district, officials said. The blaze was reported in coach B-1 between Luni Richha and Vikramgarh Alot stations in the Kota Division of West Central Railway.
The incident occurred around 5:15 am. Railway staff immediately evacuated all passengers from the affected coach; there were no injuries or casualties among travellers or crew. Officials cut the overhead electric (OHE) supply and detached the B-1 coach from the rake so fire-fighting teams could work safely. Railway employees and officers rushed to the scene and engaged in containment and extinguishing efforts.
