Fire Breaks Out on Oil Tanker Off Oman Coast; All 24 Indian Seafarers Safe
Muscat, June 9 -- A fire incident was reported aboard the foreign-flagged oil tanker Marivex off the coast of Oman on Monday, with 24 Indian seafarers among the crew. Authorities confirmed that all crew members are safe and no casualties have been reported.
The Madagascar-flagged vessel, which was not carrying any cargo at the time of the incident, caught fire while en route from Karwar in India to Duqm in Oman, according to tracking data available on the MarineTraffic platform.
Following the incident, the Indian Embassy in Oman stated that it is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with local authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of the Indian nationals on board.
