Goa, Oct. 30 -- Police have registered an FIR against unidentified persons in connection with the massive fire that gutted more than 100 ready-made garment shops at the New Modern Municipal Market complex in Vasco on Wednesday night.

The FIR has been registered under Sections 326(f), 326(g) and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), following a complaint lodged by Police Inspector Vaibhav Naik. The complaint alleges that an unidentified person set fire to the shops, causing the flames to spread and engulf several establishments.

The investigation is being supervised by Vasco Sub-Divisional Police Officer Gurudas Kadam. The allegation of deliberate fire-setting is currently under investigation.
