Goa, Sept. 2 -- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has intercepted an illegal consignment of around 450 kg of unlabelled pickles and imported cheese allegedly being transported into Goa from Maharashtra on inter-state passenger buses.

Officials seized the stock for alleged violations of food safety and labelling requirements. The consignment reportedly did not carry mandatory labels, manufacturing details or valid transport bills.

The FDA has initiated an investigation to trace the suppliers and distribution network involved in transporting and distributing the products in Goa.
