FDA Seizes 120 Kg of Sweets from Belagavi Vehicle Over Missing FSSAI Licence
Goa, Aug. 12 -- Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials intercepted a private vehicle from Belagavi carrying around 120 kg of sweets allegedly meant for supply to vendors across Goa.
During the inspection, officials found that the supplier was operating without a valid Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) licence.
In view of the violation and concerns over food safety, the entire consignment of sweets was destroyed by the authorities in the interest of public health.
The action highlights the FDA's ongoing efforts to monitor food consignments entering Goa and ensure that food businesses comply with mandatory licensing and safety requirements.
