FDA Orders Ban, Recall Of Substandard Ghee And Cumin Powder In Goa
Goa, Oct. 7 -- The Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), Goa, has ordered an immediate ban and recall of substandard ghee products from Shree Saras, Gokul and Shraddha, along with Everest Cumin Powder. The action follows food safety alerts issued by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) through orders dated September 21 and October 1, 2026.
The recalled products include Shree Saras Ghee, Gokul Cow Ghee, Shree Saras Cow Ghee, Shraddha Cow Ghee, Shraddha Ghee and Everest Cumin Powder. All batches of the ghee products are covered, while the cumin powder bears batch number E080668761. Food businesses have been directed to stop sales immediately and isolate existing stock.
