FDA Inspects Porvorim Eateries, Shuts Catering College and Two Home Kitchens
Goa, Sept. 3 -- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted inspections of several eateries in Porvorim, with a catering college ordered to suspend operations following the detection of non-compliances.
The institution was issued a notice and given 14 days to rectify the deficiencies identified during the inspection.
In Colvale, the FDA also shut down two home kitchens allegedly involved in the preparation of samosas. Officials reportedly found that the units were operating without the required FDA licences and under unhygienic conditions.
In a separate action, an unlicensed food vendor was fined Rs 5,000 for operating without the necessary authorisation.
