Fatorda Social Worker Seeks Covered Drain and Additional Parking Near South Goa District Hospital
Goa, July 7 -- Fatorda social worker Milagred Fernandes has urged the Public Works Department (PWD) to cover the open drain located in front of the South Goa District Hospital and develop the area into additional parking space for visitors.
Raising concerns over the condition of the drain, Fernandes said it poses both a public health and safety hazard. He pointed out that stagnant water in the open drain could become a breeding ground for mosquitoes, increasing the risk of vector-borne diseases in the vicinity of the hospital.
He also said covering the drain would not only improve sanitation but also help ease the shortage of parking for patients, visitors and hospital staff.
