Goa, Nov. 7 -- A tragic construction accident in Sikri village, located in the Modinagar area of Ghaziabad district, resulted in the death of one worker and injuries to several others following the collapse of a concrete slab (lintel) at an active building site.

The incident occurred while labourers were actively engaged in pouring a concrete lintel using a capsule system. According to local officials, six to seven workers were present on top of and beneath the structure when it suddenly caved in. Despite the festive occasion of Diwali, the labourers had taken up work to secure their daily wages, making the turn of events particularly heartbreaking for the local community.
