Goa, Sept. 3 -- A 16-year-old girl died after allegedly jumping from the third floor of her school building in Haryana's Faridabad, with her father questioning the circumstances surrounding the punishment she reportedly received before the incident.

The incident took place on Tuesday at Navodaya Vidya Niketan Senior Secondary School. The girl's father, Pramod Kumar, alleged that his daughter, Janvi, was punished after she and a friend ate biryani at school. According to him, she was initially asked to stand outside the classroom in the sun.
