Engineering Students Urge Goa Government to Revise Academic Calendar Amid Summer Heat
Goa, June 16 -- A group of engineering students in Goa has submitted a representation to MLA Vijay Sardesai, urging the state government to revise the academic calendar in the interest of student health and well-being.
In their representation, the students expressed concern over the conduct of classes, workshops, and practical sessions during the peak summer month of May, stating that the extreme heat adversely affects both their physical and mental health.
The students pointed out that engineering courses involve extensive workshop and laboratory sessions, where they are required to wear protective gear and work for prolonged periods, resulting in significant exposure to high temperatures and uncomfortable conditions.
