Goa, Nov. 7 -- With the Election Commission facing allega tions of wrongful deletion of voters' names during its Spe cial Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in several states, Dis trict Election Officers (DEOs) in Goa have appealed to eli gible citizens to verify their names in the electoral rolls and get themselves enrolled if they have been left out. The appeal assumes sig nificance against the back drop of nationwide protests accusing the EC of disen franchising lakhs of eligible voters through arbitrary de letions. The controversy has also prompted the Congress to question the credibility of the revision exercise and demand accountability from the poll panel.
