DSPCA South Seeks FIR Against Durbhat Resident Over Alleged Animal Cruelty and Bestiality
Goa, June 17 -- The District Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA) South has lodged a complaint with the Ponda Police seeking the immediate registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against a resident of Durbhat over allegations of animal cruelty and bestiality.
According to the complaint dated June 16, the organisation alleged that the accused sexually assaulted a cow and has urged police to initiate action under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
The DSPCA has also requested that authorities arrange for an urgent veterinary examination of the animal to preserve crucial medical and forensic evidence that may aid the investigation.
