Calangute, June 1 -- A car crashed into a cafe in Calangute, causing damage to a religious statue and the establishment's glass entrance door, in an incident that occurred recently in the popular tourist locality.

According to preliminary information, the driver of the vehicle was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The impact caused significant damage to the cafe's property, including a religious statue situated near the premises and the glass door at the entrance.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in the incident. However, the accident has raised concerns about reckless and drunk driving in the busy coastal village, which witnesses heavy traffic from both locals and tourists.
