Goa, Oct. 30 -- Saligao Police have arrested a 40-year-old domestic worker for allegedly stealing gold jewellery worth approximately Rs 1.2 crore from her employer's villa in Sangolda.

The accused, identified as Hira, a native of Karnataka, allegedly committed the theft between August 23 and 26.

According to the complaint, the missing gold ornaments belonged to the employer and her mother. Following the complaint, Saligao Police registered an offence under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and arrested the accused. PSI Dishan Naik is conducting further investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged theft and trace the missing jewellery.
