Goa, June 7 -- Domestic cooking gas prices rose again as distributors increased the cost of a 14.2-kg LPG cylinder by Rs.29, bringing the price to Rs.942 from Rs.913 effective June 7.

This marks the second rise in three months after a Rs.60 increase in March, as constrained global energy supplies tied to the West Asia crisis continue to push costs higher.

Industry sources say state-run oil companies were incurring losses of roughly Rs.703 per cylinder before the latest revision, and the new rate only partly offsets those losses. The hike comes amid broader fuel-price increases across India, prompting concerns about rising household expenses.
