Mormugao, Sept. 9 -- DJ music will not be permitted during Ganesh Visarjan processions across Mormugao taluka this year, with authorities deciding that only Dindi Pathaks accompanied by traditional musical instruments will be allowed.

The decision was taken at a joint meeting convened by Mormugao Deputy Collector Prataprao Gaonkar and Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar on Wednesday to review preparations for the upcoming Ganesh Festival.

Officials from the Police Department, Mormugao Municipal Council and other concerned departments attended the meeting, where various arrangements for the festival and immersion processions were discussed.
