Goa, May 15 -- Former Arpora-Nagoa sarpanch Roshan Redkar has thanked residents of Dias Waddo and Diwan Bhatti after his wife was elected unopposed in the by-election. Redkar, who was earlier disqualified in connection with the Birch fire probe, said the result reflects the trust and unity among local residents. He expressed gratitude for the continued support shown to his family despite the controversy surrounding his disqualification. Reports earlier stated that the Directorate of Panchayats had barred Redkar from holding panchayat office for five years following administrative action linked to the Romeo Lane Birch fire investigation.
