Goa, April 14 -- A delegation from the Marathi Rajbhasha Nirdhar Samiti has renewed its demand to grant official language status to Marathi in Goa. The group submitted a memorandum to Art and Culture Minister Ramesh Tawadkar, urging the government to recognise Marathi alongside the existing official language, Konkani.
The delegation, led by noted educationist Subhash Velingkar, emphasised the cultural and linguistic importance of Marathi in the state. They highlighted the widespread use of the language and called for its inclusion in official domains to better reflect Goa's diverse heritage.
