Goa, July 31 -- India's star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra will be aiming to add another Commonwealth Games gold medal to his glittering career when he competes in the men's javelin final at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The Olympic and World Champion returns to the Commonwealth stage eight years after winning gold at the 2018 Gold Coast Games and will be among India's biggest medal hopes in athletics.

Neeraj, who missed the previous Commonwealth Games, booked his place in the final after registering a throw of 79.61 metres during the qualification round. The effort earned him fifth place overall, comfortably securing a spot in the medal event despite falling short of the automatic qualification mark of 84 metres.
