Goa, Oct. 31 -- Students of Sarvodaya Education Society High School, Curchorem, visited Karai in Shiroda on Saturday to learn about the ongoing garbage collection initiative along the mangroves of the Zuari River, spearheaded by Vishwesh Dessai.

Dessai has been undertaking regular clean-up efforts along the mangrove stretches for several days and has reportedly removed tonnes of waste from the area.

Believing that awareness among younger generations is key to tackling the problem of garbage dumping, Dessai said that while completely stopping people from discarding waste may be difficult, educating schoolchildren about its harmful effects could help bring about a positive change in the future.
