Curtorim, Sept. 18 -- Cuncolim Union edged past United Boys of Ambaulim 8-7 via a penalty shootout to book their place in the quarterfinals of the 34th Curtorim Panchayat Cup, organised by Curtorim Gymkhana at the St Alex Church Ground, Curtorim, on Thursday.

The match ended 2-2 after regulation time, forcing the teams into a tiebreaker to decide the winner.

Cuncolim Union took the lead when Cyril Dias found the net from inside the box following an assist from Alex Fernandes. United Boys of Ambaulim responded when Tushar Gaonkar set up an unmarked Viraj Velip, who calmly finished to level the score.
