Goa, June 29 -- The Goa-based CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) is developing India's first hybrid floating renewable energy platform off the state's coastline, marking a major step forward in the country's clean energy and offshore technology initiatives.

The innovative offshore platform will integrate five renewable energy sources-solar, wind, wave, tidal, and ocean current energy-into a single floating system. By harnessing multiple marine energy resources simultaneously, the project aims to maximise clean power generation while improving the efficiency and reliability of renewable energy production.
