Goa, Sept. 11 -- The Goa Police Department is facing a severe administrative strain due to a major shortfall in the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) cadre. Out of 70 sanctioned DySP posts in the state, a alarming 58 remain vacant, leaving only 12 active officers to handle supervisory duties.

This severe deficit has forced Superintendents of Police (SPs) to take on additional DySP responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions. Overburdening senior officers risks undermining immediate supervision and weakening the overall efficiency of law enforcement operations.
