PANJIM, Nov. 1 -- Goa Police Inspector (PI) Vikas Deykar of the Crime Branch has been suspended following allegations of sexual exploitation of a 16-year-old girl, with Director General of Police (DGP) Alok Kumar confirming that formal departmental and legal proceedings have been initiated against the officer.

The suspension follows Chief Minister Pramod Sawant's announcement that a strict internal inquiry would precede formal action. DGP Alok Kumar subsequently confirmed that the suspension order had been executed.
