Goa, June 17 -- The Merces JMFC Court has issued notices to senior police officials, including SP North Harish Madkaikar, SP Crime Branch Rahul Gupta, SP Jivba Dalvi, and PI Crime Branch Tushar Lotlikar, in a case filed by activist Kashinath Shetye.

Shetye alleges that police failed to register an FIR based on his complaint against PI Gourish Malik and PSI Sanket Pokre for allegedly misusing police powers.

He further claims that he was later named in a false extortion case. Taking note of the allegations, the court has sought responses from the officers concerned.

The matter is scheduled to come up for hearing on July 21.
