Goa, June 30 -- Cortalim MLA Anthon Vas has vowed to take strict action against illegal hill cutting in the constituency following a high-level meeting with government officials to discuss the alleged illegal excavation at Meta Strips.

Addressing the issue, Vas said those responsible for carrying out or facilitating illegal hill cutting would be held accountable. He stressed the need for prompt action to curb such activities and protect the environment.

The MLA also questioned the silence of the Cortalim Communidade over the alleged illegal excavation and expressed surprise that its officials did not attend the crucial meeting convened to discuss the matter.
