Goa, Aug. 14 -- A long-pending demand for repairs to the Cortalim crematorium has finally moved forward, with the foundation stone for the renovation work laid on Thursday in the presence of local representatives and officials.

Cortalim MLA Antonio Vas, Zilla Panchayat member Merciana Vas, Cortalim Sarpanch Ujwala Rajesh Naik and Project Director of DRDA-South Goa Sangeeta S. Naik were among those present at the foundation stone-laying ceremony.

The repair project is being undertaken by the Department of Rural Development and the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), South Goa.

The initiative is aimed at upgrading the facilities at the crematorium and providing improved amenities for residents of Cortalim and surrounding areas.
